Born up the road in Tweed Heads, 5 times World Champion surfer Stephanie Gilmore has dominated the sport since first qualifying for the pinnacle in women’s surfing – the ASP World Tour – in 2007. She is also the star of a new feature film called Stephanie in the Water by director Ava Warbrick (daughter of Rip Curl co-founder Doug “Claw” Warbrick), which will have its official Australian premiere in Sydney then continue with screenings on a special event tour to Melbourne, Geelong, the Gold Coast, and here at the Byron Community Centre on October 29.
The intimate setting will give local fans a rare treat to meet “surfing’s leading lady” before she heads to Hawaii to defend her title – and possibly return with a 6th world title! Check out the trailer and secure your tickets here.
