Open Table: cross-cultural catering and culinary classes

Ayurvedic, Moroccan, Moorish, Mexican, Paleo – Byron Bay’s Open Table transforms every catering event and cooking class into a sensory feast. Chef Ronit Robbaz-Franco, who has Moroccan and Israeli heritage, uses locally sourced, pesticide-free produce to create her signature dishes. “For me, food is the bridge between cultures, worlds and people,” she explains. “It is about people coming together and sharing their love, their ancestral memories, their passion, and love for this earth and its abundant harvest.”

Ronit’s Open Table cooking classes and workshops are often held on her beautiful rural property in the Byron hinterland, which has two large vegetable gardens bursting with seasonal produce. Each event includes an array of sumptuous dishes tailored to a particular theme and offers a chance for people to learn in a hands-on environment how to prepare a delicious feast to share at the end of class.

“My cooking style is very unique as I utilise many innovative influences from my Mediterranean heritage to create mouth-watering taste sensations,” says Ronit. “I love sharing my knowledge with my participants and see food as a way to come together in a fun and playful way.

Ronit also creates delicious Kosher food for all types of events ranging from Bar Mitzvahs and Brits to weddings and corporate events (min 80 guests).
