I first stumbled across Bruns Acoustics at this year’s Old&Gold Festival in Brunswick Heads and was immediately taken with the brand’s striking hand crafted products. They’re a local company that designs and manufacturers beautiful wireless speakers that allow you to stream music from a smartphone or tablet. I love the retro style but it’s what’s inside – and behind the scenes – that has really impressed me. Not only do Bruns Acoustics use analogue amplifiers to give music that gorgeous, warm sound but every single component is overseen by a small group of internationally renowned audio engineers (here’s a piece I wrote for Byron Shire News.). To top it off, they’re all made – from the milling of the logs to the wiring of the speakers – right here in the Brunswick Valley.
Owners Phil Johnson, Eljay Driessens, Sandy Morrow and Tyler Solleder are true artisans, and I look forward to sharing more of their story with you on Live Byron.
